Rebuild Philadelphia is a multi-year program of up to $500 million to revitalize neighborhood parks, recreation centers, playgrounds, and libraries across Philadelphia.
Rebuild has 3 components: physical improvements to community facilities, community engagement and empowerment, and creating economic opportunity.
This $15M comprehensive renovation project is made possible through collaboration of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Office of Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez. Improvements will serve the interior & exterior, including a common entrance for Rivera Recreation & Mann Older Adult Centers to promote intergenerational cohesion. Mann Center’s improved facilities will support senior food programs, games, arts and cultural programming, and fitness equipment. Recreational amenities will include indoor/outdoor fitness areas, afterschool programs, boxing, karate, and more. Outdoor amenities will include a community garden and improved sports fields/courts. Additional renovations include a new HVAC system, site furniture, and full ADA access. These improvements will be amplified by a $103,000 public art installation along the perimeter wall, made possible by Percent for Art.
