HACE’s Homeownership Project is supported by Division of Housing and Community Development, Pennsylvania Housing Financing Agency, PHARE, and Philadelphia Land Bank.
The need for affordable housing and stabilization is still very high in HACE’s neighborhoods, with many households facing housing insecurity but lacking the financial resources to put down permanent roots. With the increased pressure of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as market pressures continuing in adjacent neighborhoods, displacement has become a very real worry for residents.
HACE’s Good Lands Trust Modular Housing Pilot Program responds to the need for safe and affordable homeownership units in the neighborhood, while helping residents stabilize their financial health. By expanding our homeownership efforts through the Good Lands Trust Modular Housing Pilot Program, our goal is to test modular housing construction methods as a rapidly scalable and sustainable method of increasing the supply of affordable housing in our neighborhood, supporting homeownership among low-income residents through Housing Counseling Services, and reducing blight through the development of infill housing on formerly vacant lots.
The overarching goal of this initiative is to help residents build a more stable future in a neighborhood where they know they can feel secure for decades to come.
